Mount Sinai is situated in the southern reaches of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. According to tradition, it was on this very peak that the Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments from God and beheld the Miracle of the Burning Bush. Standing at an impressive 2,285m, the summit offers a truly spectacular vantage point for the sunrise. To witness this breathtaking sight, one must tackle a rather steep ascent through the night, but I assure you, the reward at the top is well worth the exertion.
Nestled at the foot of the mountain lies Saint Catherine’s Monastery**, one of the oldest continually inhabited Christian monasteries in the world. Established in the 6th century by order of Emperor Justinian, it was later dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, whose relics were discovered here in the 8th century.
The monastery is renowned for its magnificent library, which houses a wealth of rare manuscripts and ancient texts, alongside a priceless collection of icons some dating back as far as the 6th century. Within the monastery grounds, visitors can also see the Burning Bush, believed to be the very one encountered by Moses.
We shall begin our journey to the Saint Catherine region with a pick-up directly from your accommodation in Dahab, commencing at 10:00 PM.

We expect to arrive in the Saint Catherine area at approximately 1:00 AM, where you will be met by our professional local English-speaking guide to begin the ascent.
The Climb
The trek to the summit typically takes around four hours. The path is punctuated with several small rest stops along the way, where you can pause for a breather, enjoy a hot drink, and take in the stillness of the mountain air before continuing your journey to the peak.

A Moment Above the Clouds
Upon reaching the summit of Mount Sinai, you will be treated to an unforgettable sunrise a truly spiritual and breathtaking spectacle as the first light of day illuminates the rugged desert peaks below. After taking a moment to soak in the view and capture some photographs, we shall begin our descent back down
After descending from the summit, we shall visit Saint Catherine’s Monastery, nestled at the foot of Mount Sinai. As one of the oldest continually inhabited Christian monasteries in the world, it remains a site of profound historical and spiritual significance. Established in the 6th century by order of Emperor Justinian, the monastery was later dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria. It is world-renowned for its exceptional library, which houses a priceless collection of rare manuscripts, ancient books, and sacred icons, some of which date back to the monastery's very foundations. Here, you will also have the opportunity to behold the Burning Bush, believed to be the same one encountered by the Prophet Moses.

Following our visit to Saint Catherine’s Monastery, we shall board our private vehicle for the return journey. We aim to have you back at your accommodation in Dahab by approximately 1:00 PM, allowing you to rest and reflect on your incredible journey.
